The AirNav Indonesia CNS/ATM Resilience Assessment Project was undertaken to evaluate the robustness, reliability, and sustainability of AirNav Indonesia's Communication, Navigation, and Surveillance (CNS) and Air Traffic Management (ATM) systems. Given Indonesia's complex airspace environment and increasing air traffic demands, ensuring the resilience of these critical systems is paramount to maintaining operational continuity, safety, and compliance with international standards, such as those set by ICAO.

This project, awarded to the joint venture of KOGAS and IBG Sweden AB, aims to identify vulnerabilities, assess risks, and provide actionable recommendations to strengthen the resilience of AirNav Indonesia’s infrastructure. The study covers technical, operational, and strategic aspects of resilience to support future growth and sustainability in air navigation services.

The primary objectives of the resilience assessment were to:

  1. Evaluate System Resilience: Assess the current state of CNS/ATM systems against industry standards and best practices; Identify potential vulnerabilities and gaps that could impact operational continuity.
  2. Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Align AirNav Indonesia’s CNS/ATM systems with ICAO standards and recommended practices; Prepare for evolving regulatory requirements and future operational needs.
  3. Enhance Operational Efficiency and Safety: Propose improvements to enhance system redundancy, cybersecurity, and service continuity; Ensure safe and reliable air traffic management through resilient infrastructure.
  4. Develop a Strategic Roadmap: Provide short, medium, and long-term recommendations for system upgrades and capacity enhancements; Ensure a scalable and future-ready ATM infrastructure.
