The achievement of optimizing the utilization of BUMN assets which has an impact on positive contributions to companies and the state is the main goal of BUMN asset management. The role of company organs becomes important when asset management activities deal with issues related to society, government and the environment.

The problems of BUMN assets which were caused by, among other things, improper / incorrect management and arrangement in the past, are now special jobs to begin to organize and resolve. Broadly speaking, some of the problems faced by BUMNs related to their assets are:

  1. Weak proof of ownership (legality aspect);
  2. Control of assets by other parties (community / agency / institution);
  3. The desire of local governments to use assets
  4. BUMN for government activities or according to the existing regional spatial layout;
  5. Limited business fields that can be run by BUMN in accordance with their articles of association.
  6. Limited company finances to empower its assets.

As a step towards solving the problem as a whole, the Ministry of BUMN has established policies and programs to map and study assets

BUMN. To accelerate the process of mapping and reviewing the assets of all BUMN and to obtain a clear picture of the condition of these assets, the Ministry of BUMN in parallel needs to carry out mapping and study activities of BUMN assets by utilizing the services of an independent consultant.

The output of the asset mapping activity carried out by the KOGAS Consortium includes:

  1. The condition of BUMN assets (legality), including control of assets;
  2. Fair value of BUMN assets;
  3. Map of underutilized / idle assets along with their potential utilization and projected value of assets if exploitation / utilization of these assets is carried out.
